The
original part of the Main Lodge was built in 1919 from Walnut logs as a
private retreat and hunting lodge for Ed Ballard, hotel and casino operator.
A second floor was added recently, expanding the lodge to 10 guest rooms
and 6½ baths. The Lodge boasts a kitchen, bar, color TV, VCR, and a large
fireplace in the living room. Lodge guests can dip into the hot tub located
in the garden by the reflecting pool and soak away tension. Antique furniture
and handmade quilts on the beds complete the picture. Sink into a comfortable
chair and read a good book or just enjoy the peace and quiet.
